ISE 2016

At the beginning of February every year, audio visual geeks from around the world descend upon Amsterdam in their masses for the biggest trade show in the Europe, and this year I would get my geek on and join them.  A bit of background for you; Integrated Systems Europe is a trade show for the Audio Visual and System Integration industries.  It started in 2004 in Switzerland with just 120 exhibitors and 3500 visitors.  13 years later and the show is now at RAI Amsterdam and this year was the shows biggest, spanning over 4 days with more than 1100 exhibitors and 65,000 visitors

At first I thought, Great!  I’ve never been to Amsterdam before.  I can go to the show for a couple of hours each day and then spend the rest of the time sightseeing.  Not a chance.  The fact that there was not one single holiday maker on the flight to Amsterdam should have been the first sign that I would not get a minute to myself.  I stepped straight off the flight, collected my luggage and boarded a train to the RAI, where I stored my suitcase for the next 8 hours
